Re: About to move to FTTP

Voipfone https://www.voipfone.co.uk/ offer great support and the cost for a line is very reasonable. This will work with any internet provider so don’t get hung up on an ISP offering or not offering a VoIP service.

Re: About to move to FTTP

Thanks Spile.

I have c.21 months of PN contract to run which might pose a financial problem if switching to other than EE/BT - but who knows - more research needed. The whole matter seems overcomplicated to me.

Re: About to move to FTTP

Sure that you can upgrade to FTTP with PN for no termination fee on your copper feed.
Then you would have 30 days to port your number to a VOIP provider.

If EE have a good signal where your are, look at the virtual providers that use the EE network and support WiFi calling
Was a member for years, but moved from PN fttc to fttp from an AltNet. Getting 940Mb up and down. Happy to stay on here and try to help others. 

Thanks all. Decision made - for better or worse - going with EE.

@bobmaccor

Just make sure you organise it through PN so they can waive charges.

Re: About to move to FTTP

I bought a DC UPS from China, currently using it to back up my router and ATA. Before I connected it for real, I did some tests on how long it lasted: take a look here for details:
