End of Day: 25th February

A few departments missing from the EOD today. It may have something to do with Colin's post in the internal forums asking for an "EOF"... End of File? Enterprise Objects Framework? Empirical orthogonal functions? Ethyl ortoformate? Electroosmotic flow? Tongue Comms: A fresh new week and we like to continue this anti-busy theme that's going on. HAH! Not really. Today I [Matt] have been picking up one or two issues that got raised over the weekend and am continuing my calls to high usage customers. I've also been about in the forums and helping out with the CSC. Chris has been up and down between Networks and the comms desk (meaning yet more change controls), and has also been forumming, picking up problems and attending meetings. James has been the man for the forums today, as well as "yes". (What? it's what he said to me when I asked him what he'd been up to today... Must be some obscure facet of all this Ninja training he's been doing.) Bob and Mand have been absent, Bob because he's still out in South Africa (hope his liver comes back in the same state he took it out in... actually hoping it comes back slightly healthier would be nicer, but not very likely) and Mand because she's down in London getting involved in what I can only assume are high-level talks of some kind. We hope you've had a good day, too. Marketing: So it's the start of a new week and not just any old week. It's a week that contains pay day, which is great news for all PlusNetters. That's not until Friday though and we've got plenty to keep us occupied until then. Spencer and I have been working on some promotional material for a forthcoming offer, while Tim has been building a page to promote opportunities for people and companies who want to partner with us. Chris and Nick, fresh from accompanying some competition winners to the football at the weekend, have been plotting some local marketing campaigns and Chris has also been working on the newsletter. Finance: Kate has been working on payroll today ready for the end of the week. Mark J has been doing the KPI's and also working on problems. Mike has also been working on the KPI's, whilst Jamie has been working on Project Roadmap. Mark and James have both been working on audit planning today. Fiona has been doing credit checks and I (Alex) have been allocating payments to customers accounts and also closing customer tickets along with Andrew. Products: Off to a good week so far and no it’s not because Maria’s at a meeting in London, it’s because it’s been the first Monday in a long time that reporting has gone silky smooth. Dave’s becoming somewhat of a celebrity with his blog posts, he’s started to get a hunger for the lifestyle of the rich and famous, he’s started work on his next one already! In between signing autographs and declining tea with the Queen he’s also been working on tickets and usage analysis. Rich’s been working on the VoIP platform by clarifying documentation and continuing risk assessment. Web Team: Lots of small community site enhancements: Feedburner & Technorati thingies live, YouTube & Flickr badges in testing. Plus ongoing development on the Ideas tool & Customer profiling. CSC top 5: #1 Router Setup/Config - Old and new customers requiring help setting up their routers though mainly WIFI issues. #2 E-mail client setup - Still customer are calling from the problems on Thursday and we are setting up the clients for them, the main issue is where customers have entered in the default username rather than the mailbox password. #3 New Fault - New Fault checks mainly authentication and No synchronisation issues - possible MSO in Wales for the authentication problem. #4 Faults updates - Customers calling for updates on logged faults. #5 Sales - Questions on new accounts, home phone and the extra's for home phone - customers still wanting to speak to a human rather than doing it online.
