number of devices attached

Hi. I opened the page showing my Home Network, and there's a list of the attached devices to the 2.4, 5Ghz and ethernet networks. Most of these i can recognise as being computers, phones etc around my home. But a number of them have obscure names like Unknown-e2-cf-06...

I know i could identify these by changing my Wifi password, and see what stops working, but is there a simpler way of finding out what these mystery devices are?

thanks

Paul

Re: number of devices attached

Hi Paul,

Copy the MAC address segment of the unknown_ string and format it with colons as separators, e.g:-

e2:cf:06...

Paste that MAC address into the site here and it will often tell you the vendor of the network interface. It isn't always obvious, and sometimes you won't get a result, but it may provide some clues.
