Re: Using the BT Smarthub 6 on a Plusnet Account

I know nothing about other ISPs and whether it would work, I suppose that it depends on whether they use the same log in protocols. All we know is that many, possibly all, are not compatible but I do not know if there are exceptions so stay out of that debate.

The BT / EE / PN hubs will only work on BT / EE / PN services.

ONT = Optical Network Termination - the FTTP equivalent of the phone master socket.

Re: Using the BT Smarthub 6 on a Plusnet Account

BMC thanks for that, some guys from a network co were outside my shack Laas week,  they dug up 7-8m front garden and were installing the fibre cable from pavement to outside wall box,  they used a small compressor to blow the fibre cable thro,  i asked him what they were doing, they were super friendly and explained, unfortunately i did not have my hearing aids on, so did quite get it all,

yeah they did not mention the clients/customer router etc he works for a bank,  needs super fast.  They said its mostly overkill in most cases (speedwise)   he did mention CityFibre   would probably be coming.  I watched the Virgin guys chop up pavement both sides of my street about six months ago, i did ask if i could see the c able, they were very friendly guys, and slightly intrigued/amused an old buzzard like me want to know and was interested in that stuff.

Yeah so that article helps build a cleared picture for me.
