Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 | Last updated 30/11/21

Today I checked my Hub One and found these entries in the event log looking in category TR069

Expecting to see the firmware had been updated, it appears not to have still .263 but with todays date.

Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 | Last updated 30/11/21

Which is unchanged from the last time the Hub One booted

09:47:30, 26 Sep. ( 29.850000) System up, firmware version: 4.7.5.1.83.8.263

I would have expected the Hub One to reboot during the firmware update process.

So has the Hub One not had a reboot initialised or I am supposed to reboot it? If so how would I know?

Would running routerstats on the Hub One prevent it from rebooting?

Probably a question for Tech Ops

Dan.

Edit - Forgot to to say both 2.4 and 5 GHz Wireless are not enabled

@Dan_the_Van  After the update you have to reboot the router, then  it should show the new version.

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 | Last updated 30/11/21

@RealAleMadrid

The question remains how would I know the device needed a reboot unless I had checked the event log, if I was non technical I would assume it is on the latest version, this is from the home screen of the Hub One.

Plusnet Hub One | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 | Last updated 30/11/21

So the questions I asked remain un answered.

@Dan_the_Van  I see what you are getting at, the routers updated by the mass roll out would be expected to reboot so they run the new version. Maybe they are running the new version, just not showing it.🤔

I think it is a question for @bobpullen to answer.

Fix

Once the Hub One has successsfully downloaded a firmware update to memory, it will be instructed to execute a reboot during quiet hours, typically between 2am-4am on a subsequent morning.

Checking my log the router had a successful transfer yesterday morning and rebooted itself this morning so maybe that is the plan !

Re: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 | Last updated 30/11/21

Thanks for confirming, mine now reports

Plusnet Hub One | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.289.1.3 | Last updated 30/11/21

So the options are wait for a automatic reboot or restart (not power off) the Hub One.

To restart, from the Hub One Home page:- Advanced settings >System >Restart.

Hi Dan,

This question keeps coming up in my quiet moments! I understand not to turn off the power to the device, which now makes me scared to click the restart button!

So, is the restart button on the router and the restart option on the browser page perfectly fine to click?

Hi @WotW

Yes it is safe to either press the button on top or restart the Hub One via the GUI.

The advantage of using the GUI you can do it from the comfort of you chair 🙂
