Router Access Problem in Firefox/ Safari/ Opera

I was updated to full fibre broadband but had speed issues. The Plusnet Tech said the speed restriction was due to the router being constrained to 2.4ghz and the full speed needed 5ghz.He then remotely updated the router.

I had restricted the router to 2.4ghz two years ago as my security cameras only work on 2.4 and 5ghz interfered with operation. Not a problem until yesterday when the Tech updated the router. Now my cameras are playing up.

However I have tried to access the router by Firefox, Safari and Opera. Each browser either gives a 'Not secure connection" box or just hangs.

How do I access the router (192.168.1.254)?

You need to override the browser security warning as explained here.

Bob

For Firefox the message appears on screen. Hit "Switch to HTTPS" and wait. Nothing happens.

For Safari and Opera the loading bar goes about 25% and then nothing.

Tried everything mentioned on different Search Engines. Nothing seems to work.

Folks are make such a meal out of this.

ISPs must rue the day Self Certified Certificates were needlessly adopted.

@Donkins1 - try bypassing the redirect page altogether by navigating directly to https://192.168.1.254 (note the 's').
