Plusnet Hub Two DSL

Could someone give me some advice please. The hub has been perfect for a couple of years. I have noticed my phone when connected to my home hub, shows 5GHz. When I initially set the hub up, I switched off the 5GHz setting. When checked, it still is in the off position. Problem is I need an item connected to 2.4GHz and assuming it won't connect because of the unavailable 2.4GHz. I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Please let me know if further info is required.....Tia

@Steveo100 Can you post a screenshot of this page from your Hub. If you have turned off the 5Ghz but ca still use the router, then the 2.4Ghz band is still active.

Re: Plusnet Hub Two DSL

Which phone is it, and where is  it showing 5Ghz?

To upload the screenshot, a question - are you using a desktop/laptop or a mobile device?

Re: Plusnet Hub Two DSL

That was not the page I asked for, but it clearly shows the 5Ghz band is 'off'.

To save a lot of toing-and-froing  - your 'item' will connect to your Hub , on the 2.4Ghz band.

@Steveo100

Looking at the screen shot you shared, it shows two ethernet devices, it does not show any wireless device connected to the Hub Two, do you have a wireless access point any where?

Re: Plusnet Hub Two DSL

So if your phone (or any other device) is seeing a 5GHz SSID then that must be from the other devices … as the router management screen clearly shows that the Hub Two 5GHz SSID is turned off.

and a nova mesh system

@Steveo100 so its likely that your phone is connected wirelessly to that on the 5ghz band ?

Re: Plusnet Hub Two DSL

With only two ethernet devices being connected to the Hub Two suggests the MESH is working as a router, which results in double NAT.

Why do I say this; the Hub Two will only show connected device it which are on the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet, devices which are connected to the mesh will not as the are hidden behind the Mesh WAN address which will be it's IP Address on the Hub's network.
