@rooky

Plusnet are BT’s budget ISP and provide a budget hub compared with their more expensive master.

However Smarthubs can be picked up for peanuts on auction sites and can be used on your Plusnet service. See the links in this post. https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Using-A-BT-Smarthub-An-Update/m-p/1795292#M24601

Also if plus net but budget isp does that mean the speed and stable service lower

Re: New router

@rooky

Let me put it this way, an Orbi mesh router is, as far as I am aware, just a router. Consequently if you want to use one  on FTTC  or ADSL you will also need to buy a modem. You can possibly configure it as an Access point to use it with your Plusnet hub but you will lose the use of the Orbi’s advanced features.

You can pick up a Smarthub for about £20 or less on EBay, I believe that an Orbi mesh system will cost more than £200.

An Orbi system will give you better WiFi coverage. The choice is yours.
