Re: Moving from 2704N to Hub One

Thank you, @Gandalf.  I already have notification from PlusNet that a replacement is on its way.  I will check back in once tested.

Re: Moving from 2704N to Hub One

Replacement router tuned up on Saturday.  Unboxed and installed it this morning.

Exactly the same as the previous Hub One.  Green, then blue, then flashing orange.  Arrgh!

Back on the 2704N for now as I have work to do ...

Re: Moving from 2704N to Hub One

Sorry to hear this.

When you're able to set your Hub One back up again, could you take photos of the setup including hub and phone socket?

If you can post the photos here, we can double check things look okay.

Re: Moving from 2704N to Hub One

A couple of thoughts.

Are you using a power pack that came with the Hub One?

With no cables connected and the Hub One turned on after the powerup sequence you should see a solid orange led with a flashing 'b' below the long led, does this happen?

Re: Moving from 2704N to Hub One

Slight delay!  The week has been busy with other things.

Dan: Yes, I am using the Hun One power supply.  (The 2704N power pack has a different size connector.)  Without cables, yes it ends up with s solid orange long LED with a flashing b LED.  (Green solid, green flash, blue solid, bright blue solid, orange flash, orange solid with b flash.)

@DortonDoug If the Hub1 is still powered up, can you check the 'Username'?

Will do, @Gandalf.  Need to find a slot when I am free and broadband is not in use!  Leave it with me.

@jab1: I was replying to @Gandalf's and @Dan_the_Van's queries from last week.

Hadn't spotted your latest request.  My bad.  Hub One router not currently connected as the broadband is in use via the 2704N.

OK, @DortonDoug - my bad, as I assumed you had seen my post. 😉 My question might be a red-herring, but it would rule out one possible problem.

@DortonDoug

Without cables, yes it ends up with s solid orange long LED with a flashing b LED

This hopefully proves the Hub One is detecting a missing DSL connection.

The pictures @Gandalf  requested might give us a clue of what the problem is.

Re: Moving from 2704N to Hub One

Photos attached of the phone sockets, and the back of the Hub One.  I also have photos of the setup screens, if needed - just let me know.

Master socket is in the hall, extension socket in the study.  Hub One will not run off either socket; 2704N runs fine off the study socket.

Ethernet cable runs to desktop PC.

Re: Moving from 2704N to Hub One

Thanks for the pictures, it looks like it should connect.

Have you tried taking the from cover off the Openreach master socket and plugging the ADSL filter in to the test socket?

You only need two wires connected between the master and extension sockets. Colours don't matter as long as they match up each end, you should see 2 and 5 with wires and they should be 2 to 2 and 5 to 5.
