Linksys MR5500

Hi - I have just had Plusnet Full Fibre 145 installed, replacing Virgin. All works fine, but I would prefer to use my own router. On Virgin I used a Linksys MR5500 sucessfully. However, I cannot seem to get it working in place of the Plusnet router. I have followed the guidance on how to configure the Connection type to PPPoE with my username and password reflecting the correct values. I have tried both cloning and not cloning the MAC address of the PlusNut router (taken from the sticker on the back of the deivce - neither work. Domain name MTU is set to Auto, The Plusnet router was removed from the configuration - the cable goes directly from the Openreach wall mounted box to the Linksys router. Has anybody else experienced and subsequently resolved similar issues?

Plusnet dont check the MAC address so no cloning is required.

Check that you have the username correct , it should be <youraccountname>@plusdsl.net and the password is the one used to access the member portal www.plus.net/login

Also check that you have no VLAN ID set

Re: Linksys MR5500

Many many thanks MisterW - it was the VLAN ID causing the problem - once I cleared it, all worked like magic! You are are star amongst stars in a very starry sky :-). Thanks again.
