Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

@bobpullen Hello! I am also having this issue with two of the eight devices on our home network experiencing extremely slow/intermittent internet, and one generally being fine but a few times a day getting the "connected - no internet" issue. We're on .263 - could we get the firmware update please? Thank you.

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

Hi
Could I get the update to our account please.

Brief description of the problem, and how is masquerades itself. What are the symptoms? How frequently does it happen?

Every few days the internet drops out. Devices sign out(particularly mobile devices) and when trying to log back in, it says wrong password. Stops as soon as modem is rebooted.

Do the devices having problems appear to be connected or associated with the hub? Is the hub status indicator normal/blue when the problem occurs?
Yes to all. Devices appear to be signed in, but are unresponsive to online requests. When entering settings, the device then drops out and requests password.

Do you have the 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels merged (default setting) or split (different wireless network names)? If the networks are named differently, does the problem only affect the 5GHz network?
Split. Issue seems to mostly affect the 5ghz network. Although our 2.4ghz network always seems to have issues.

Once the problem occurs is it persistent? Do you have any devices wired to the router and does the problem affect them at the same time?
Problem does not seem to be solved except through restarting.

Are you able to reproduce the problem reliably? Do you think you have a way of triggering it? [for example waking a specific device from power save mode]
Nothing particular seems to cause as far as I’m aware.
Is the problem always resolved by rebooting the hub? If so, how long does it take before problems recur?
Yes. As far as I’m aware, when it happens rebooting is the only solution. Have left it for time, but not fixed by itself.
If specific devices are always impacted when problems occur, please provide details of which devices are impacted and which aren't i.e. manufacturer, model, variant and operating system version.
IPhone 12 on latest iOS always hit. Probably other devices.

Have the devices experiencing problems recently received any patches that might correspond with the time the issue first occurred?
Nope.
Please provide a description of your home network setup and all devices in use including whether or not you're using any additional switches, Powerline adapters or wireless access points.
Have devolo power line adaptors.

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

Hi @bobpullen, happy to make your acquaintance; I'm glad I found this thread. I'm also on the 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 firmware on the Hub One and experiencing the symptoms described by many in this thread; currently have an open ticket with support, but things seems to be taking a while Undecided

If those firmware updates are still going, I wouldn't mind one being pushed out to my router as well if possible please.

Thanks,

Fizz.

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

Hi Bob, @bobpullen I've been told I need to tag you so you get the message. Sorry not used to using this format.

Could you push the updated firmware down to me please. Mr Router is running Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.263, i'm getting frequent 5GHz droputs.

Have turned off the 5GHz as a temporary work around. Hopefully the newer firmware will solve the problem.

Many thanks

Dave Prince

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

@bobpullen

Hi could I get the fix pushed to my router? I'd answer the questions but there are so many and I just want the internet I pay for to work. Thanks!

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

Hi @bobpullen. Can I please have the update too as we’re consistently getting WiFi issues even after a full reset.

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

@bobpullen

Please could you push the update to my hub too. I am on 2.6.3 and 5ghz keeps asking for password. Resetting router helps for a bit but then the problem comes back.

Thanks

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

Hi @bobpullen

I am having a similar issue to all of those described, 5GHz devices keep disconnecting and are often unable to reconnect.

We have 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz as separate networks, but I would rather use the latter as we live in quite a built up area

Could we have the update please

Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 | Last updated 27/03/19

Thanks very much in advance!

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

Hi @bobpullen

Since the firmware update, all the LED's on my router intermittently go red and we lose all internet connectivity which is resolved by rebooting the router.

The router logs seem to indicate that each router hang is preceeded by the router attempting and failing to connect to https://pbthdm.bt.mo (below).

Is this behaviour being reported by any others on the new firmware?

Any update from anyone at Plusnet? It's clear that a lot of us are having this issue and our internet speed is severely impacted

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

Well, I am leaving plusnet next week. That's the end of PN for me sadly since 2012. Moving to other ISP (G.fast service 160/30)

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

@jeff15 Yeah I do feel for all of you. Plusnet should NEVER sold Hub One in the first place knowing ongoing wifi issues. They should have replaced a new router.
