Hub 2 with Orbi RBK50 router and satellite

Hi,

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find a simple explanation.

We're trying to use the above setup. We've put the hub 2 into bridging mode, gone through the orbi setup. This seems fine except we're left with a solid orange light on the hub 2 and no internet.

Then in trying to get back to the hub 2 only setup we noticed some of the fields had been changed (IP address) which we couldn't fix. A factory reset of the hub 2 and to have returned us to working order but we still really need the Orbi router and satellite working.

What are we doing wrong here?

Thanks!

Well not a lot of info to go on, but have you set the Orbi to PPOE mode and entered your PN username and password?

Hi,

I don't think so - we simply used the Orbi setup app and don't think we were ever asked to do this (or told how to do it) I'll check and get back to you. Thanks for the quick reply!

If the Hub Two led is orange then it isn't in bridge mode, it should be a pinkish colour

You connect your router to a LAN port on the Hub Two NOT the WAN port

Looking at the handbook https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RBK50/Orbi_UM_EN.pdf

Follow the steps starting on page 27 under the section "Specify an Internet connection that uses a login"

6. = PPPoE

7. = your Plusnet login

8. = your Plusnet Password

9. = Plusnet

10. = Always On

11. = 0

12. = Get dynamically from ISP

13. = Get dynamically from ISP

14. = Use default address

Before you go too far, check that both Orbi devices have been updated to the latest firmware version 2.7.2.24
