How to switch off WiFi while using ethernet cable?

.
I have PlusNet router Technicolor TG582n, with Windows 10 Pro.

When I use a yellow ethernet cable, how do I turn off WiFi on my router?

Thanks.

Re: How to switch off WiFi while using ethernet cable?

You don't need to turn it off.

But if you go to 192.168.1.254 in a web browser it should get you to the router page

Click Home Network on the left hand menu.

  1. Under Wireless, click WLAN: PlusnetWireless (or if you've changed your network name from PlusnetWireless, click the new name instead).
  2. Click Configure to change the settings.

Hi welcome to the forum, press and hold down the wifi button on the top of router for a few seconds should disable wireless.

Fix

@dvorak That seems to be working thanks.

The solution posted by @Den1 also works. In fact, I can see the configuration checkbox changing dynamically in the Wireless configuration panel each time I use the manual switch on the router. (No logout/login necessary.)

Thanks to both posters.

I wonder who's credited with the "Fix" if I reply to two helpful posters in a single response 🙂
