Full fibe. Connection

Hi,

I have signed up for fttp from fttc and have been told it may be delayed due to " work being required", probably as I don't think fibre has yet been installed. Is there any way of finding out if the installation will be underground or overhead ? I have an appointment for this Thursday for the initial installation which I think is just to screw a box to the outside wall, hopefully their fitter will have some info. Will I need to have a new router or will my older one be ok, it's only about 3 months old?

Chris

Put your address into the BT wholesale checker https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

What does it say for i'nstall process ' against WBC FTTP. Also what does the narrative below the availability matrix say ?

Re: Full fibe. Connection

Normally the route of fibre is the same as your existing connection.
Do as @MisterW posted, others can then advise.

If your router us only 3 months old, it is more than likely a Hub 2. On the day of swap, disconnect the cable from the phone socket and use the ethernet cable, from the new ONT to the WAN port on the router.

Re: Full fibe. Connection

Hi,

Went on the broadband checker as advised, ploughed through the abbreviations and it seems to say that fibre is installed, don't think so, no new telegraph poles or holes in the street, just have to wait and see, thanks for replies,

@Chrisvesey

If Full Fibre is installed then the Checker will advise that an ONT (Optical Network Termonal) exists.

Post a copy of the narrative on here.
