Re: Fritz!Box 7530 AX for FTTC

@Champnet Most unhealthy!

Using a sensitive receiver, I've checked how far my WiFi signal gets. It's definitely a neighbour. Fair idea who, but impossible to prove.

The DEAUTHs are of course KRACK attacks, for which someone has purchased kit purely built for hacking.

It must be his hobby. Most likely attacking all his neighbours WiFi I'd guess, not just me.

Would he do harm, damage or theft if he got in... impossible to know..

Life in the modern world...

@markv  I've not personally come across this but it's not surprising. Now I understand why you've a 64 character password as even a brute force attacker would take weeks. A Krack attacker could intercept your private data and cause you all sorts of problems. Could you manage without WiFi or at least use ethernet cabling where possible ?

Re: Fritz!Box 7530 AX for FTTC

@Champnet I understand that WPA3 is proof against most (all?) current WiFi attacks. But the 7530 can't be set to WPA3-only, it only offers WPA2+WPA3.

However, it appears that it uses PMF (Protected Management Frames) for WPA2 connections, and PMF guards against KRACK attacks.

The docs aren't entirely clear, but that's my reading of:

https://en.fritz.com/service/knowledge-base/dok/FRITZ-Box-7490/3481_Does-the-FRITZ-Box-support-WPA3/

Not feasible to use ethernet for phone and tablet!

Re: Fritz!Box 7530 AX for FTTC

Alas, the FRITZ! is on the fritz. Just when I was learning to love it...

Seems to be constantly dropping and reestablishing the Internet connection.

The old Draytek wouldd keep a connection for weeks or months.

Any thoughts?

TIA,
Mark
