Connection type: Fibre Broadband (VDSL) speeds

Hello all,   my BT 6 Business router home page shows

 

Fibre Broadband (VDSL)

 

80.00 Mbps

20.00 Mbps

 

is this good or what?

 

Yesterday i  renewed my contract for 18 months it was due to end end of Feb 2024,  is this correct for Unlimited Fibre Extra Your new contract will take effect from 30/01/2024. -  Today

 

PS

I am on telephone cable wire, with router connected into oldish telephone/BB socket on wall,  i dont get how its fibre.

@Empire From that information, you are connected on a Fibre To The Cabinet circuit - in other word, fibre as far as your nearest street cabinet, with the connection from there to your master socket being your copper telephone line.

That's as good as it gets on FTTC ( Fibre to the Cabinet)😀

Your speed is as good as it gets on Fibre Extra. Depending on how you renew, the new contract will either start immediately or on your next billing date. In your case it was immediately.

Thanks all,  the speed is still ok for now.................. an old person in a modern world, trying to keep up....

 

.............thought of  getting Super Dupa Fibre to the sofa, then remembered i would forget what i neeed it for.
