Configuring Wi-Fi to use datalogger

I'm wanting to configure my wi-fi to allow me to pair a datalogger to use with my solar set up. Has anyone any experience of doing the same? I have a full description from the manufacturers of how to do this using the IP 192.168.1.1 Does anyone know how this can be interpreted to enter the PN route using 192.168.1.254? Any advice or guidance would be helpful.

Re: Configuring Wi-Fi to use datalogger

@JRTaylor

Normally you dont configure the router , rather you configure the device to connect to the router.

I have a full description from the manufacturers of how to do this using the IP 192.168.1.1

Is it possible to post that so that we can possibly translate that into what's required for connecting to the PN router

BTW which PN router do you have ?

Re: Configuring Wi-Fi to use datalogger

Thanks for your response. Here are the instruction I have:

1)Shut down mobile data on mobile device
2)Ensure your Wifi has 2.4Ghz enabled
3)Open Wi-Fi networks on mobile device and search for SSID W-<xxxxxxx> (last seven characters of datalogger serial number)
4)Enter password if required (mtmt2020)
5)Launch web browser on mobile device (Safari, DuckDuckGo, Chrome)
6)Type in http://192.168.1.1 (for external dongle)/https://192.168.1.1(for internal dongle) to navigate to datalogger setup net web server if you are asked for a password at this stage it is 12345678
7)In third window down inside top blue box select your home wifi SSID from drop down list
8)Enter home wifi p/w in the fourth box.
9)Press ‘SAVE’
10)Wait some minutes and hopefully red LED on datalogger will flash 1x every 2 seconds.

Re: Configuring Wi-Fi to use datalogger

Ok, so basically the procedure is using a mobile device to configure the data logged to connect to your home WiFi.

Follow the procedure  but at step 7 select the Plusnet WiFi name and at step 8  enter the password for that. If you don't know those from connecting other wireless devices you can find then listed on the tab o n the back of the hub 2

Re: Configuring Wi-Fi to use datalogger

Looking at what you have posted from support. You are connecting to the logger wifi, then configuring the logger yo see your home wifi.
Turn the logger on, on your mobile phone search for the logger wifi in settings, wifi and then follow the instructions above. You will need to know your home wifi name and password. Enter then. Save the settings, all should be good.

Re: Configuring Wi-Fi to use datalogger

If you find it easier I expect it can also be done on a laptop.

I am wondering why the Solar installation engineers did not do this task.
