Cant access my router

I have been with plus net a week and I still cant access my router - I need to set up a port for my sons xbox.

Keeps saying This page cant be displayed - using http://192.168.1.254

Other aspects of the router seem to be working.

Cheers

Re: Cant access my router

Which router do you have? And how are you connected to it?

Re: Cant access my router

So I don't know what operating system you're using. Let's assume it's Windows 10...

Launch an elevated command prompt. To do this type 'cmd' in to the search box, hold ctrl + shift, and click the thing that has just appeared at the top of the menu that says CMD.

Type 'ipconfig' press enter.

Find your adapter, wireless or wired. And make a note of the 'default gateway' this is the ip of your router.

Re: Cant access my router

Try a factory reset by pressing in the reset button with a paperclip or similar and keeping it pressed in for at least 20 seconds.

You will then have to wait whilst it starts up again from scratch, the same as when you first installed it.

Re: Cant access my router

Hi @babybearthe1st and welcome to the Community Forums.

If you're using our router then the 192.168.1.254  address would be best. I've found Internet Explorer/Microsoft edge usually have the best success in bringing up the router pages with no issues however if you don't have a PC/laptop to hand then android devices with the default internet app also works well.
If you're trying to connect via wireless and still having issues then it may be worth trying with a Ethernet connection.

If you've tried the above and still can't access the router then as @Baldrick1 says it may be worth giving the router a factory reset and trying again.

Let us know how it goes.
