Can’t get online “Secure Connection Required/Switch to https”

Hello
Since this morning we have been unable to connect any devices to our Internet. When I try to access the WiFi via my iPhone I get a message saying Secure Connection required and a pink button that says “Switch to HTTPS”.

When I click that it takes me to the red and white Plusnet page but it still won’t connect to the WiFi. Does anyone know how we can get online via our phones? Also tv won’t connect.

I tried via my laptop and did the accepting the page etc but it still won’t get me online.

I have tried turning on and off and pressing the reset.

Sometimes this odd behaviour can mean there has been a glitch with the monthly payment.

Stupid question probably the same way I am via 4g mobile data

@Lanser1964 I don't particularly appreciate the tone of your post, and as the OP has not returned, you are not necessarily correct.

IIRC, there are posts on here to help you sort the issue.

Hello, yes you are right I was using my mobile data to get online at the time.

I managed to get it sorted the next day, I rang Plusnet at 8am and the man was really great to be honest, he knew straight away what the problem was. 

 The issue was that our router had somehow logged out of all of our information  (if that even makes sense sorry!). 

When you get the button to say 'Switch to HTTPS' click it and wait until you get the main Plusnet log in.   Log yourself in and go to 'Broadband' and then 'Internet'.  Under your Broadband Username section you need to make sure that this shows your Plusnet username.  For example XXXX(whatever your username is)@plusdsi.net   and then in password add your Plusnet password.   

Ours had logged out and was showing some generic username.

@Katkatkat I, at least, understand what you mean - basically, for some reason, your router had thrown a wobbly and reverted to the 'setup' account.

Not that it matters now, but rebooting the router would have sorted it.

Hi John,

Yes exactly that, it really wasn't too happy for some reason :).  I did try rebooting it twice but it didn't help but I am glad I will know what to do if it happens again.  Cheers Smiley

I do not usually answer this type of bait, but in this case, I will.

No, my attempt to help was not 'just to boost my post count'. As you may have noticed, I've been around these forums for a long while, and only post when I feel my input may be useful - I don't need to boost it.

Until someone has an issue, how can there be 'posts to help', especially bearing in mind that what may seem to be the same issue may not necessarily be so?
