Best Broadcom based modem/router?

About to start reading all the reviews with a view to updating my current modem/router [Zyxel VMG 8924-B10A just over 6 years old]. As far as I can see there hasn't been a firmware update for my router since 2017 although I would be happy to be corrected on that.

Just wondered if any one in the community has a strong recommendation based on their own experience. It needs to be a Broadcom based item because I want to continue to be able to use the DSLstats application for monitoring.

Just because a modem has a Broadcom chipset doesn’t mean that you can use DSLstats, it has to allow telnet access.

For example, a BT issued HG612 is locked down and you need to flash it with new firmware to activate the necessary features.

@Baldrick1

Hello Baldrick1 - yes I am aware of the Telnet accessibility requirement but worth pointing out for readers who may not be.
