ASUS RT-AC66U internet connection problems

Hi,

 

I'm trying to setup a new connection using new Asus router through openreach modem. WAN light is red. I can login to ASUS setup page through WIFI but unable to connect to the internet. 

Entering login details as myusername@plusdsl.net and same password I use to login to my plusnet account.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I’m assuming that you are on fibre rather than ADSL.
One thing to look at is the VLAN ID (VID) which should be 101 for the value.
That's RPM to you!!

I couldn't find vlan settings. Where is it?

@andy20  Welcome to the forum

 Are you a new customer? If so have you received a text advising that your service is live?

Are you on ADSL or fibre? The BT modems only work on fibre.

Can you connect using your Plusnet hub?

Have you set up your ASU’s router using these settings. https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/broadband-connection-settings/

The Openreach modem handles the VLAN tagging. You don't need ( or want ) any tagging in the router

Hi,
I've got fiber unlimited.
I'm not a new customer, just want to upgrade the router. Hub one works fine. I've tried hub one with bt modem too and it works.
Asus wan light is red and shows no connection

Forgot to say - I've used settings for fiber as advised

Did you check the connection settings found here: https://www.plus.net/my.html?s=0&action=refresh_browser
(Login required) Specifically for login name, maybe it’s slightly different?

Have you tried factory resetting both the modem and router?

I assume that you are connecting the modem LAN 1 socket to the ASUS WAN socket and entering your Plusnet credentials in to the ASUs? 
What are the lights on both the modem and router indicating?

If you could post a few screen shots from your ASUS settings pages after obscuring personal details it might help us advise further.

I've tried the router on different network and it doesn't work either. I have sent it back for a replacement and will try again when new one arrives

Hi. Just to update: I've received the replacement and it works fine! It was fault within the router after all
