Thanks for the information.
Full Fibre isn't available so you be supplied with a product called SOGEA which is FTTC without a phone service.
It's called Fibre in PN terms and will be provisioned at the best speed available to your property. Looking at the results it appears you'll get a very good speed - probably maximum possible.
At the end of the day though, the copper line need repairing first before anything can be done.

Not convinced they'll be able to hang the cables though. There's trees now plus it's a long distance and the neighbours say they could nearly touch the cables as they passed over the back of their gardens. I suspect what was fine 40 years ago is no longer acceptable
We shall see

Fitted a socket inside the house and a bracket to the outside.
The guy is lovely and I need to remember that [-Censored-] companies are still staffed with hard working thoughtful people
The work notes said nothing about what I'd previously mentioned so he'd turned up blind.
He's waiting on another engineer and he's currently wobbling the pole in my neighbours garden which isn't helping it's lean

Great news - it's amazing what a "good" engiineer can do.
Given the position you were in on Tuesday this probably counts as good service.
