House move Engineer needed for another full fibre property?

Hi everyone.

I’m after a bit of advice, or to see if anyone has experienced the same thing?

I moved into a new house last week, I did ring up to book a homemove and was told to take my router, cables, etc with me, plug them in and it should swap over within a few days as Plusnet Full Fibre was already in place at the property, this is also what I had at my old place.

Plugged everything, connected straight away and no issues since, but it dawned on me that I never received a notification confirming the switch had taken place.

I logged into my account, the home move is still in progress and my address is listed as my previous one, located the emails from when I booked the homemove to see that a question had been opened by Plusnet support to say that an engineer has been booked for Monday 20th April.

Is this standard procedure for a like for like switch? I noticed the ticket was open so submitted a reply asking this but the ticket has since been closed without a response!

Any advice is welcome!

Thanks

Re: House move Engineer needed for another full fibre property?

@KTC Welcome to the forums. If everything is working as expected, it looks like there is a bit of a mix-up at PN'S end. With FTTP, everything to do with the switch is remote if the infrastructure is in place, and, as has happened in your case, the required actions have already taken place.

I'm not 100% certain, but it sounds as though the system has disregarded the fact that this is an FTTP>FTTP move. I suggest you call PN tomorrow and seek clarification.

@jab1 thanks John!

I did suspect that was the case with it being a like for like product but thought it was worth checking in case it was my misunderstanding.

Thanks again for your help!
