Having been with Plusnet for 3 years I have just placed my order to upgrade to full fibre. My current router, which I believe is the Hub 2 and is compatible for the new service, does play up occasionally and I usually have to reboot it every few weeks although I did have to do it a couple of times in one week a few months ago.
Would Plusnet provide me with a replacement router if I ask as I am now signing up to a new 2 year contract?

I can't see Plusnet replacing their current router for an identical model simply because of a contract upgrade, unless there is evidence the router may be faulty.
Do you know what was behind the need to reboot? Was it a problem with the router or with your existing telephone line? Remember, with FF you will no longer even be using the existing landline.

I have noticed there are a lot of new/unused hub 2 routers for sale on eBay for very little money. I assume I could buy one of those to keep as a back up in case it did fail and just plug it in as a replacement.

Have you considered buying your own router, depending on your Full Fibre product choice a third party router might be a better option.
You can keep your current Hub two as a spare.
