Broadband activation

Hi, the Openreach engineers connected fibre to my house and plugged in the router. It showed blue for a minute or two during which time the engineer showed me the net speed. However, it turned orange a minute or two later. He said it should resume in a couple of hours but it’s been 10hours now and no change. Really needed the internet to work over the weekend, so could use some help

Re: Broadband activation

@jikuthomas Is this FTTC - via a telephone master socket, or Full Fibre - via an ONT?

Re: Broadband activation

I don’t have a telephone nor a telephone socket. So I guess it must be the ONT?

Re: Broadband activation

Yep, like that. 😉

Try removing the cable fron the back of your Hub, wait about 30 seconds, and then reinstall it.

Re: Broadband activation

Fix

OK - one last idea before I retire for the night. On the right-hand side of the ONT is a pinhole - press a paper-clip or similar into that until the lights change, wait until they go  solid green and see if your Hub connects.

If it doesn't, all you can do is call Plusnet in the morning a report a fault.

Re: Broadband activation

Eureka!! I had reset twice before this and it didn’t work. Glad I tried a third time after your advice. Thanks for your help.
