Awaiting Router Delivery. How do I configure BT Hub?

Hi all
My router hasn’t arrived before the activation date.
I’ve still got my old bt hub which I have reset and tried plugging in but no joy. I can’t get on the Internet to change any settings on the bt hub to make it work.
Any ideas anyone please.

When you follow the guide provided by @jab1 note that you MUST remove the DSL lead whilst changing the log in credentials to your Plusnet ones.

Thanks Baldrick1, yes that’s what I think I had done wrong.
