Activation Date

How can I defer the activation date? I find that I need to pay the early termination fee to my existing broadband provider. Thank you.

Re: Activation Date

While not answering your question (I'll let the forum staff help you with that)

Are you aware that several AltNet (non-Openreach) full fibre network providers will offer to pay off the "early termination fees" from your current ISP - as a sweetener to join their alternative network sooner rather than later.  It might be worth your while seeing who your local AltNets are, and reading their terms and conditions, in case you are lucky enough to have an operator willing to fund your early exit.

Re: Activation Date

@johnsonchong  Welcome to the Plusnet Community Fora.

A couple of things to bear in mind.

You generally pay your ISP a month in advance, so if you leave in the last month of a contract the early termination charge is normally in the form of a reduction in the amount you are due to be refunded, not an additional bill. check your current contract for confirmation.

Activation dates are requested of Openreach, they are not set in stone guaranteed dates. If you leave it until the last day of your existing contract and there are Openreach delays due to engineer availability problems you may end up with a high out of contract rate bill from your current ISP for the delayed period

Re: Activation Date

Vodafone said they estimate my early termination fee will be £25.90.

I am sorry that my English is not good enough to talk through the hotline. Is it any other methods I can contact your customer service?

I really want to postpone the activation date. Thank you very much.

Re: Activation Date

@johnsonchong You would need to give us a call to speak to our team who can help with changing your activation date. We don't offer other methods of support at the moment. I understand it can be a bit difficult, our team will be patient and understanding to help with your query. If you have anyone available with  you as well you could call up with them and they can speak on your behalf if needed.
