over paying

I doubt anyone on here can help but am hopeful of some adviceI

I am 88 and not so sharp as I once was hence my predicament.   I have been with Plusnet about 6 years and found out via a call ,i made to ask that my landlinebe discontinued, that I have been paying over £66 per month instead of  £27

I had not recieved the email telling me my contract was ending.  Plusnet did not have my email addees for some reason

Although wondering why my account was shrinking I failed to see these exhorbitant changes.   My income is basic rate pension with income support guarantee,   I really need advice on who to contact as I try to get at least some of thhe £440

Re: over paying

@rm82atear

I'm afraid you were moved onto the "out of contract" rate at the end of your contract. If PN genuinely did not have your email address then you might, just might, be lucky in getting a goodwill payment out of them.

If you are happy with PN then you need to sign up to a new contract to reduce the monthly payment.

As to who to contact I'll leave that to others. A staff member night pick this up, or might not. If not you'll need to phone support.

Re: over paying

COTS on 0800 013 2632 is probably the best option.

Re: over paying

@rm82atear

Sorry to hear about the amount you have been paying. It must have come as a shock to see those prices. You are not the first to have been caught out by allowing the contract to lapse.

Is it possible that you changed your email address during the last 6 years?

When you first signed up, you should have received various emails from Plusnet. Probably a "welcome" email & an email with details about your first contract. I know it's going back a few years now, but do you ever remember getting any emails from Plusnet previously?

Thank you I only had otecemail address the the they used was oddy how I signed my paintings with @ plus added I mailed the address it was not delivered. I have never recieved mail from plusnet email or post. I have spoken to them when trying to get my bill reduced or to leave them. I stayed because of the costs involved.
My grandaughter had now concluded my complaint because the stress was doing me harm
I will receive a payment of less than a third of what they took but have to put the matter to bed. I now have BT essentials for£16-50 pm
there will be no changes. This
