Your parents may qualify for the social tariff BT Home Essentials which combines a Digital Voice service with a Fibre Internet connection (although I suspect the connection speed is limited) and AFAIR includes some free calls depending on which of the options are chosen.

However this would not enable you to stay with PN, or even jump ship to Vodafone.

Cheers, i have a feeling the care device won't be an issue soon. The carers said Dad told them where to stick it. Smiley My brother said he would get him a Doro mobile as they have a panic button on them.

I have asked my brother to come and talk to Dad, they seem to speak the same tech language - I am more Hansard and the law. lol
