Re: closing account Globalnet email account

@Kittenp

If the email address has been migrated to Greenby then you don't "lose" it when you close your PN account. Greenby will cost £15 a year but the first two years are free. Not certain what happens cost wise if you leave before the two years are up.

Re: closing account Globalnet email account

Brian, thank you for your message and to be able to continue for at least a year would be super helpful for me.. can you advise about the migration to Greenby- is this automatic? I will continue to have my pn account for at least 3 months..

thank you again for your help

@Kittenp

The migration is being done in stages. As as I understand it all the legacy e-mails like GlobalNet were been done first with PN addresses following. As domain hosting and website space would be moved afterwards. If you've been migrated you should have received notifiation. Try logging into your PN Members page and looking at both open and closed questions.

My PN email migrated a couple of months ago. Someone more knowledgable then me my post on here otherwise you may need to phone PN Support to ask.

Hi @Kittenp

Your Globalnet e-mail address won't be affected when your Plusnet account is cancelled, as they're two different accounts btw.

Re: closing account Globalnet email account

@Gandalf

I'm assuming GlobalNet  was / is part of the PN stable and has / will be migrated to Greenby.

If so, two questions.

Has @Kittenp address been migrated and, if not, is there any indication of when it will be?

Will they still receive the two years free email even if they leave before paying the £15 yearly subscription?

Brian

Re: closing account Globalnet email account

Global accounts will be transferred later in the year. As stated above, it's a different account to Plusnet, so whatever happens to the PN, the Global will remain. When it is transferred, you'll have the option to pay for it, or cancel it.

Re: closing account Globalnet email account

thank you to all for the messages.

I understood that i was only able to keep the globalnet email was the retain an account with plusnet.

I don't use it much..  I just wonder how they will contact me to provide information about the migration..   i've changed my plusnet account email to a different one a while ago.. i guess they could contact me there..
