Hi all, I;m back!
I;ve just done two years in prison for reckless arson ( my bad is was a drunken accident )
Two years in prison with one leg confined to a wheelchair, it was fun.
I just got my bank account back, as all my belongings were thrown away / stolen. Plusnet / asda / amazon prime have been taking money from my bank account from the 24th April 2024 - july 2025. I;m broke, I want my money back, you should have seen no data was used since 24th april 2024?
[Edit] I would have rang, but I don't have a phone at prersent ( was thrown away or stolen )

Telling it like it is...
Whatever your backstory, you contracted Plusnet to provide a service and they duly provided that service in return for the payments you made.
If through circumstances, or choice, you are not at home to actually use that service, then that has nothing to do with Plusnet and they are under no obligation to refund you. They don't monitor people's usage and cancel the contract just because no bandwidth is being used. And Plusnet had to pay Openreach the ongoing monthly wholesale charges for the line/service.
Gas/electricity/water are similarly not cut-off because you are not consuming the product. Likewise ASDA and Amazon Prime that you also mentioned.
Whatever the circumstances, it was your responsibility to arrange for these services to be cancelled in your absence.

My contract expired May 2024, they were taking £60 a month for like 14 months.
Obviously not renewing a contract means, I'm not intrested continueing with plusnet's services
I had the option to renew, but was looking at other providers, untill liberty was taken. so I was not in any position to cancel plusnet. they don't have internet in prison.
Plus I was evicted on the 8th Jan 2025
I'll wait for a reply from someone with some weight around here.
Think before you speak in future.

The contract is not a fixed term, its a minimum term. Once the term expires, the service doesnt stop, it continues on a rolling monthly term at the 'out of contract' rates
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

I do think before speaking. What I said was correct.

What you said was incorrect, as @MisterW explained above.
Same for Gas/Electric/Water - once the period of supply at your contracted tariff ends, the service continues at whatever tariff is specified in the Terms and Conditions you agreed to.

OK. Do either.
The answer will be the same. Because it was correct.

You may be wanting a while. You would do better raising it as a complaint. There is a link to the Complaints Code of Practice at the bottom of this page.

I'm tempted to ask what the other leg was doing... 😐
It sounds very unlikely to me that you will get your money back, from Plusnet or anyone else. But, what do I know?
If the services you were paying for (presumably by DD) were not cancelled, then neither would the payments. It seems as simple as that. After all, how were Plusnet or any other of the providers to know of your circumstances?
"Obviously not renewing a contract means, I'm not intrested continueing with plusnet's services"
It may have been obvious to you, but not to Plusnet. Unless specifically cancelled the service is still in place - just at the out of contract price, which is expensive.
While there may be no Internet in prison are there not phones? Perhaps phone your bank? Or could you not have ask a family member to intervene, get help via prison welfare? Surely there are standard procedures to cope with circumstances such as yours?
Anyway, sorry to hear of your present situation, hope you get sorted out and meanwhile, welcome back.
