Taking out a new contract without phone line

Hi,

I have recently received the email about changing to a package without phone line.

If I take out a new 24 month  contract now, as suggested in the email, what happens to payments for my existing contract?

I don't want to be in a situation where I effectively pay twice in one month.

I have a payment coming out around the 26th of this month for my FTTC with phone line and would then presumably need to pay another £24.99 for the new contract.

@LawrenceS If you switch to SOGEA, your current contract is cancelled. Any 'double payment' will be corrected on the following months invoice.

No you don't pay twice. The new contract takes over the old one if that makes sense.The first billing after the change may be wrong due to the way the billing system works but it usually sorts itself out the following month.

 

I assume you're happy to lose the landline and Full Fibre isn't available to you.

I would wait until around the 26th and then, if you're happy with the price, pull the pin and signup for the new contract.

 

Hopefully the timing would ensure your next billing is up to date.

My grey matter kicked in last night.

 

Bills get generated 7 days in advance so if you're payment is due around the 26th then the Bill will be on your Members page to view.

 

As such there's nothing to stop you changing now to give the system plenty of time to sort itself out before the next bill is due.
