Our Unlimited Fibre Extra contract ended on 11th August, this included broadband and a landline. The cost of this was £35.99 per month.
As we don't need the landline, a few days before the contract ended, I called Plusnet and opted for the broadband only deal of £22.99. This obviously excluded a landline.
I went through all of the details and was told the switchover to the new contract would begin on 12th August and my monthly payments would be £22.99. Yesterday (12th August) the switchover happened and the landline became inactive.
I have now received my latest bill which is for the old package - including a landline - and the new charge is £65.08 and when I log into my account, I am informed that this charge of £65.08 will be taken by direct debit on Tuesday 18th August.
The detailed breakdown on the bill is for the period of 11th August to 11th September, so I'm being charged for the old package despite switching to a new one.
What is the best way to resolve this?
Thanks
Terry

@Scoobee the latest bill was produced before the new contract started so would have billed at the out of contract rate. Your next bill ( 11th Sept ) will adjust by refunding for the period 12th Aug to 11th Sep at the out of contract rate and applying the new rate for that period and will then bill in advance the next month at the new cont
