Hi, I received an email notification that my domain would expire on 11th March 2025. I contacted Plusnet support in early February to renew the domain.
I've now been told that Plusnet no longer supports domains and I will have to transfer to another hosting partner.
I've received no notification email that this was going to happen and, according to the support person I was speaking to, email processing will be discontinued in the future too.
I've been with Plusnet since before 2010 and am severely impacted by this change of policy.
I'm posting this as I only have 4 weeks to resolve this situation and hopefully other members will not be caught unawares (as I was).

Hi John,
apparently I haven't been misinformed ... support now do not have access to renew domains and have been told (by management) that domain renewals are no longer supported.

@outcast I have have more faith in what the SUs - who have direct contact with higher management - tell us than non-customers who make assumptions.
@ABAPMonkey I will wait for a response from @Townman / @MisterW before passing any further comment.

I would be delighted to have been misinformed and happily repay the £25 inconvenience payment I’ve been paid if it means I don’t run the risk of losing my domain

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

So what authenticated information do you have to make such a mocking statement? You’re not even a customer. Your persistent speculations about the future are not helpful, they just create a lot of FUD. Why all of your scaremongering? “Outcast” has tones of sour grapes … please put the axe down.
The business has stated on several occasions that if and when there’s something changing, customers affected will be informed direct, not via CSA gossip. Sadly and frustratingly the front line CSAs have an unsavoury track record of giving out misinformation, matters the SUs feedback into the business for correction.
Over the years, the SUs have made strenuous representations to the business on proposed changes to the offerings and continue to do so. Be assured that if there were any firm suggestions that email was just disappearing, we would be making a lot of noise.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

I'm sorry to say you've been mis-informed. I've seen details provided on the ticket, and I'll provide feedback in a moment.
Your domain is set to auto-renew, which will mean it is done for you, but there is a little time left before it expires. I'll have a word with the guys that renew for you anyway.
