Re: No bundled calls if move to EE. New contract required if stay with PN

Also from here:-

Move to EE

"Will I pay the same for my broadband with EE?

Yes. We’ll move you to an EE broadband package that cost the same, or in some cases a little less each month. Depending on whether you’ve a Plusnet international calling plan, you’ll be set up with either EE’s Unlimited Minutes or Unlimited Minutes and International pack. You won’t need to choose one yourself. And out of bundle call charges may vary."

The implication is that you pay the same for broadband and phone package, but the question only asks if you pay the same for broadband. So it's not 100% clear 🤔

You could read that as 'everyone will have EE's Unlimited minutes' and those that already have an international calling plan will also get an 'International pack' 🙄

Re: No bundled calls if move to EE. New contract required if stay with PN

I spoke to a Customer Services agent on Friday PM. He was very clear, repeating the same thing several times, that if I want a call package, I can choose to pay EE an additional £2/month for DV, plus pay for each call, or pay £13/month for unlimited UK calls (international not mentioned and not relevant).

As @RadioFox   points out, if you are paying for a call package with PN, you will get an equivalent call package with EE at the same cost.

My case is different because I have a legacy benefit of free evening and weekend calls, since 2014. I pointed that out many times to the CS agent, but it was ignored - guess they don't have a script to cover it.

I've' decided to switch to making all calls on my mobile. Not ideal (for me), but life's too short and I don't need the hassle.

Still won't take a 24-month new contract, but that's another argument!

Sorry but can we be clear here. Were you told that a phone service (on a PAYG basis) was an additional £2/month ?

The legacy E & W/E call plan is a different argument but a phone service should be included at the same cost as your Plusnet contract.

Correct, that's what I was told.  Unclear if the extra £2 would be on top of the £30.99/month I'm currently paying. I'd hope not!

There's another paragraph in the FAQ in the  'When  will my service move to EE' section

Will my Call Plan change when I move to EE

Yes. The name of your call plan will change when your account moves to EE. We’ll make sure that you’re matched to a call plan that gives you the same benefits as, or better than your Plusnet call plan.

can I suggest you raise a complaint so we can get some clarification

@MisterW  "You could read that as 'everyone will have EE's Unlimited minutes' and those that already have an international calling plan will also get an 'International pack' :face_with_rolling_eyes: "

That's how I read it too. In my case, I have no calling plan. I pay for calls per minute. So it will be interesting to see if I'm put on the unlimited minutes plan. There is no mention anywhere of being put on a PAYG service. I doubt that they will be generous enough to give me unlimited minutes for free, but that's how I read it.

It's probably just a very poorly written article that doesn't cover every posibility.

I read it a

Landline only would be migrated to EE DV payg service.
Anyone with a call plan would be unlimited minutes but those with international minutes currently would get those too

Re: No bundled calls if move to EE. New contract required if stay with PN

@njay that's a fair alternative read

but that still reads that someone with an E & W/E plan (even though its a legacy plan) should be put on an Unlimited plan

@MisterW

Agreed as nowhere does it say paid for call plan.

Bit like people losing email/domain as a non paid for service but thats a whole different thread

I've searched high and low but can't find those words. Could you possibly let me have a link? TVM

Re: No bundled calls if move to EE. New contract required if stay with PN

@markv they are well hidden!

Go to the 'move to ee faq' https://www.plus.net/help/my-account/move-to-ee/ , scroll down and select the 'when will my service move to EE' tile ( the centre one ) . Scroll down to see a list of bullet points, open the 'Will my call plan change when I move to EE' bullet point

Why the call plan change is in the 'When will my service move...' section is anyones guess🙄

Got it, thanks. That FAQ also confirms: Same price or lower, No change to contract end date, and Same speed or better.

Re: No bundled calls if move to EE. New contract required if stay with PN

Today i received my 30-day warning email. It is explicit as to: same price (including referral credits), same speed, same end date.

No explicit mention of call plans, so I called 0800 011 3146 and explained to the helpful chap that I wanted to check if my 'Evening and weekends included' call plan would apply on EE mafter migration.

After a little thought, he assured me it would.

To avoid doubt, I told him I'd spoken to someone else a few days ago, and they'd told me it's be either £2/month+PAYG or £13 for unlimited.

That gave him pause for thought... but he came back with the assurance that my call plan would be honoured, at no extra cost.

Result! And case closed.

Thanks for all the help here. Seems I was somewhat wasting your time... but the guy on Friday was adament I'd get no free bundled calls.

Did you establish how your PN referral credits would fare with EE after your initial 'contract' ends?
