Greenby vs Digital Switchover

I have a simple question:

Will the email migration to Greenby be completed before the Digital Switchover in early 2027?

I am still on the PN email servers and have PN broadband FTTC and PN home phone. My contract is expired.

I want to keep my landline.

If I change supplier now (to EE or BT for example) I will lose my PN email.

If I wait until Digital Switchover I will lose my landline.

Seems it is one or the other unless the email migration is completed this year, giving me enough time to keep my landline.

"If I wait until Digital Switchover I will lose my landline."

That's what seems to be the issue here. This statement is both TRUE and FALSE at the same time. 😊

You will lose your "landline" whatever happens - because, come what may, everyone will (Yes, I know...).

However, what you probably mean here by "landline" is your landline phone number. The easy way to keep a landline number is to be transferred to EE - but the risk here is losing Plusnet email if you are not transferred to Greenby before this happens. However, you don't need to wait to be transferred to EE to keep your landline phone number. Other VoIP phone providers are available and you could arrange the transfer yourself - assuming you are now at least on VDSL (FTTC) - to one of them before anything else happens and stay with Plusnet as your ISP.

@u123072

Two things - what is available to you going forward Full Fibre or Fibre (SOGEA which is old school FTTC without the phone element)?

Do you have web space or domain hosting with PlusNet? If no to this question your email may well have been migrated. Others will advise on this.

With your landline you have two choices. Move to an ISP who does both (like EE or Zen Internet) or stay with PN and port your number to a VOIP provider like A&A. You're out of contract so no ETC's to worry about but you'll be paying non contract prices.

Yes, customers with a phone service were prioritorised for email migration to Greenby, unless they had domain hosting and/or webspace
