Hi,
I'm out of contract. Paid monthly bill of £45.96 to Plusnet on 2nd August. Moved to new provider on 11th Aug. When should I expect my final bill from Plusnet? Is the payment on the 2nd August for the forthcoming month or the previous month?
thanks
Fixed! Go to the fix.

@Clangers you are billed monthly in advance, so the Aug 2nd bill will be for the period Aug 2nd to Sept 1st.
You should receive the final bill within 21 days of the leaving date.
Since you say you left on the 11th Aug, the final bill should be a refund for the period 12th Aug to 1st Sept.

I'm in a similar situation. My contract with PlusNet ends on 16th September, and I'm moving to Zen on that day. Zen gave notice to PlusNet on 26th August, and I got an email from PlusNet the same day saying that if I switch on that day, my termination charges will be £0. However I have just received bill from PlusNet for the period 14th Sep- 13th October for £69.05 (£29 more than my in-contract charge) as if I were still staying with them and out of contract.
I spoke to someone at PlusNet who said that even though PlusNet knew I was leaving, the bill was automatically generated and the £69.05 would still be taken on 24th September. I was then told that I would receive a final bill(!) 20 days later, when I should receive a refund of the £69.05 minus any cancellation charges.I queried why the Sep-Oct bill had still been generated and asked if the payment could be stopped, but was told that it couldn't be as 'the computer generates it'. This just doesn't seem right. Should I be worrying about whether I will get a refund some time in October?

@smithy_sid That's how it works, the billing system is ignorant and issues a bill for another month, just hang on and you will eventually get it refunded. If you pay by direct debit keep it active and the refund will go back to your account.

Smithy, I wouldn't be too hopeful of getting a refund in October. I switched to YouFibre on 11th Aug and I'm still waiting on a final bill from Plusnet. Another month's billing from Plusnet was taken on 2nd Sept with my account still active with the indication that another month would be taken on 2nd Oct. I phoned Plusnet (Retentions) on 4th Sept who told me that my service had ceased on the 11th Aug but my account hadn't been closed, and that I should receive a final bill refunded to 11th Aug. I'm still waiting. As soon as you are up and running with Zen on the 16th Sep I would phone Plusnet Retentions to make sure that your account with Plusnet is closed from that day (16th Sep) and any refunds are due from that date.
