Billing issues financially struggling

currently having the worst time plus net charged me double because I had finished my contract then my account got wiped by octopus energy left with nothing ! I mean zero ! Rang plus net to inform them I am struggling to be given a 13 day grace period to pay the full 75 which I don’t get paid again until the 23rd offered if I get any money for my birthday before the 17th to put it on my account just to be told that if I don’t clear it all by the 17th in full even if I manage to pay half I’ll get a late charge aswell ! And my internet cut off anyway even if I managed to pay half ! Don’t think I’ve had a worse month it’s making me so depressed ! Already financially struggling , late payments don’t help especially when you are trying to pay ! I feel sick with worry is there any help ? Or is it just suck it up and let the company put you in further debt ?

Hi @cheekydavies82  and welcome to the fora.

 

Not sure how much help can be offered but it may be worth ringing the Customer OptionsTeam (COT) on 0800 432 0080 and selecting "If you are thinking of leaving". They may be able to offer further advice as well as a new contract rather than continue with the higher out of contract price.

I'm really sorry to hear of your situation at the moment. Our customer support team are there to try and help you as best they can. If you're not happy with the way things progress after speaking with them, I recommend opening a complaint on our Contact Us page by hitting the 'contact us via an online ticket' button. That way, a dedicated team will look into this and contact you back to discuss it further.

Already have entered another contract but they won’t credit me till next month so still have £75 to pay all at once and ill get a late fee even tho I’ve rung up and informed them of my issue ! Seems wrong to charge a late fee when im in contact and offering to pay ! Even banks drop their charges when you ring up and explain

Already done the cancellation team wont be credited anything back till next months bill so still have the £75 to pay and I’ll have a late fee even tho I’ve rung and explained my issue
