10.5% inflation price increase NOT 9.3%

Hello, I understood that my Plusnet monthly charges (for Unlimited Fibre Extra + Line Rental) should be seeing a 9.3% increase due to inflation, yet the monthly charges on my latest statement (Billing Date: 4-April) show a 10.5% increase:

Previous months' bills: £27.18

Latest bill: £30.03

Percentage increase: (30.03-27.18)/27.18 = 10.5%

This seems like an error (perhaps the calculations don't fully take account of the discounts applied to my account?). If it is an error, please can it be corrected?

Thanks.

Fix

@noticeto

The price increase was applied on the 31st March. If you do the sums you might find that the increase includes the time from that date, that is, a back charge as well as the increase for your coming month.

Re: 10.5% inflation price increase NOT 9.3%

Hi Baldrick1,

Thanks for the quick reply, and I think that's the answer!

Got the calculator out, and the difference in what I was billed and what I expected is accounted for precisely by a back charge for the inflationary increase on those 4 days between 31-Mar and 4-Apr.

Cheers.
