Price Hikes Beware

I did notice Plusnet mobile sim has gone up by 9.4% in March but why 9.4% Plusnet?

Old price: £10.00

New Price: £10.94

I will wait for same tariff same price £10.00 offer deal in around April and switch over to it and save 94p per month.

There's quite a big assumption in this statement.

Re: Price Hikes Beware

I have 30GB U/L Mins U/L Texts for £10

Most people have more data allowance than they use/need

When I get the email notification I will change to the 20GB for £9 so will be saving £1.94 per month  that's £23.28 per year

Will have a big smile on my face for a change  😊😊😊😊😊😊

Re: Price Hikes Beware

If you change plan from 28th February your price still increase 9.4% on or after 1st March 2022 and next rise will be in March 2023. So, your monthly £9.00 will go up to £9.84 in your March or April bill.  You will be saving £1.10 per month that's £13.20 per year. You could have waited until 1st April see what their offer price is

Re: Price Hikes Beware

I asked when I called and was told it will defiantly not increase from the £9 until next year

Did you think I would have changed if that was the case  that's why I called and not just guessed

Re: Price Hikes Beware

They told you incorrect! Because any tariff plan changed before 1st March still get 9.4% price increase! Just call them back to cancel plan change! And wait until April 1st Offer Deal.

Where are you getting your information from

I called from my phone 500 then 1  then 3  was answered straight away

Why don't you do the same

Re: Price Hikes Beware

I gonna give them a call now.

Updated after my phone call - yup the price will be 9.4% rise from 1st March. They said taking out 20GB for £9.00 per month will be subject to this term as following: This price increase will be applied on or after 1st March each year from March 2022, and will be equal to a percentage comprising of i) the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate figure published by the Office for National Statistics in January of that year (ignoring any negative figure) plus ii) 3.9%, and rounded up to the nearest whole pence. If the CPI figure is negative, the price increase will only be 3.9%. Was confirmed will be £9.84 per month for 20GB if changed now will be £9.00 but the next bill be 84p increase.

Re: Price Hikes Beware

Wait until the price hike then move to another provider at their base price for new customers.

Not so easy with broadband though which is rather more than 84p.....

Re: Price Hikes Beware

I am not bother to change plan. I stay with my current tariff old plan £10.00 will go up to £10.94p in March but I will wait until April if PN do have the same tariff for £10.00 as I will switch over to it and say goodbye to £10.94p. That's what I did last time. Cos it monthly by monthly rolling on. If PN won't do it then leave!

The only worse regret and angry with Energy go up by HUGE 54% in April and again further 10% in October this year - Totally unaccepted and disgusted due to Russia and Ukraine crisis push up wholesales cost.

Re: Price Hikes Beware

Hi there,

I’m really sorry for the confusion here.

If sign up to a mobile plan before the 1st March, and it takes effect after the 24th February, the plan won’t be affected by the CPI price rise until March 2023.

I hope this helps.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
