Messages adding +44 to 6XXXX number?

Using a Pixel 5 and messages is adding +44 to short code message and preventing it from being sent.

Can anybody help please?

Looking down the forum I see that plusnet do not support short codes.

Please can you confirm this?

Yes, there is no facility to send to short codes (other than the PAC request ones). You can receive them though
