6.22pm yesterday evening my PPP dropped and reconnected.
Since then is steady consistent packetloss.
ipv4 gateway is central10.pcl-ag06 ipv6 is 2a02:16c8:0:1::16
will add graph to post.
ipv6
ipv4 without the loss
edit now hopped to central10.pcl-ag03 ipv6 2a02:16c8:0:1::13 and packetloss gone.
router logs, modem is synced fine, uptime 38 days.

Bob saw something very similar a few days ago, I suspect on the same gateway.
I'll take a look into it and try and work out what's going on.

A couple of days ago, I swapped back to my normal username to test something else, which understandably broke my ping monitoring:
Somebody questioned this, and before explaining to them why the graphs were broken I saw this:
I was on pcl-ag06 and had been for over 40 days (according to our RADIUS logs at least).
The problem seems to have started back on the the afternoon of the 24th:
Edit: I see Matt beat me to it.
