VoIP

Hi, present land line analogue phone cream crackers. Got a BT advanced Digital phone but PN Hub does not support VoIP. Can I just subscribe to a VoIP provider and continue with PN contract ie Broadband and phone line.

Re: VoIP

@iansniffer Which package are  you on at present - presumably BB+phone on FTTC?

If that is the case, then you need to change to a SOGEA connection, and then arrange to transfer your phone number to a VOIP provider.

Hi John, BB and phone, not sure of the other acronym you quote.

Re: VoIP

@iansniffer I assume you are on a 'fibre' connection - which should be identified on your account as 'Unlimited Fibre', or 'Unlimited Fibre Extra'.

It’s not quite that simple. What you have to do is contact Plusnet and sign up for the same Internet service but without a phone line, known a SOGEA, you will probably have to take out a new contract.

Once this transfer is complete  you have 30 days to transfer your  phone number to a VoIP provider or the number is lost.

If you just transfer to VoIP without going through this sequence it will trigger the cancellation of your Plusnet service and if you use IMAP, the deletion of all emails.
