Good morning PVMP
I am on the ADSL system. There is no Full Fibre here and no chance of ever getting it, I live in far North Scotland surrounded by farms!!
I have had 9 replies for my initial question all quite confusing, I don't understand much of the 'jargon' especially about what exactly is diditilization as applied to a phone line etc
Main worry is if this new concept goes through the same unreliable transmission system as my EE mobile I will be virtually cut off when there is a Power Outage because I still had emergency contact through the landline phone line
I guess I will have to wait for an email from Plusnet with instructions and the new EE Hub
Thanks again.
Dave

G'Day MisterW
Many thanks for your reply
FYI My system is ADSL. There is no Full Fibre here, where I live in Far North Scotland surrounded by farms so IMO there never will be.
I have had 9 replies to my original question quite confusing especially the meaning of Digitilization and what it means. I read that the governments is doing this to record every single phone call and email we send,???
I guess I will have to wait for an email from Plusnet with instructions and the new EE Hub.
Thanks again
Dave

No - 'digitalisation' in this context is merely the transfer of voice services from the PSTN to an IP based system, nothing to do with 'Big Brother' despite what all the scam sites and 'truthers' tell you. How could the authorities record every single call, where would they store it, and why?

It doesn't - it goes via the Openreach network, which has nothing to do with the mobile one.
