Plusnet SmartTalk?

Any plans for Plusnet to provide something similar to BT SmartTalk for their Home Phone customers? Plusnet must have access to the same technology given BT owns them?

I don't think that we do have access to the technology.  It sounds a bit like BT Fusion from years back.
We don't currently have any plans for something along these lines.

I've downloaded the app.... just in case.
I don't even have an iPhone, or iPad ... yet
This page auto downloads to my iTunes, as do all apps
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/bt-smarttalk/id586965407?affId=1018132

But I do have an Android Smartphone

Re: Plusnet SmartTalk?

Isn't this just a user-friendly version of VOIP, linked to your landline number instead of a dedicated VoIP number?
The Plusnet/Gradwell VoIP offering gives equivalent functionality, but it does require a bit more setting up & understanding.
Or have I missed something . . . . ?

Re: Plusnet SmartTalk?

i guess BT had all the fusion stuff 'lying around' from the previous attempt which required a specific phone and managed to transform it into this, as James said.
For PN to do it they'd have to write a massive integration piece with Gradwell and for Gradewell to provide the service it would cost as well.
I quite like smart talk and will be using to reduce my mobile package price at renewal time in a month or so.

Is this still the case and is there any chance that it might change?

Re: Plusnet SmartTalk?

Not really. SmartTalk is a VOIP application that goes to BT and uses your BT landline call allowances/charge rates.
