PlusNet FTTP unavailable - if I move to a different ISP, will I lose my xxx@plus.com email address?

I have a current Plusnet FTTC & home phone contract, and also use a PlusNet e-mail address. It's become a little costly when compared to FTTP and VOIP options from other suppliers.
As the PSTN switch off approaches I need to consider my options as I need to retain my current home phone number and @plus.com email address.
PlusNet/EE/Openreach have no plans to offer FTTP with VOIP. The only provider at my address for FTTP is Virgin Media.
Questions!
PlusNet will transfer it's e-mail operation to Greenby in July.
1. If I leave PlusNet before the switchover, will I lose my PlusNet e-mail (I expect I would)?
2. If I leave PlusNet after the switchover, would I be able to keep my @plus.com e-mail (there may be a fee to pay)?
Virgin Media does not support VOIP so I would have to go with a third-party VOIP provider (e.g. Voipfone) and an adapter of some kind. I can cope with that.
I really don't want to lose my @plus.net e-mail address as it's used a lot!
Please could somebody who knows about these things let me know whether my assumptions regarding loss or retention of my e-mail address are sound, or have I completely misunderstood the whole thing?
Many thanks,
Mike.

@MisterW Well, apparently VM doesn't support VOIP on new installations - they have said so. The "Digital Voice" socket on their hub is apparently deactivated. VM did say that I could use a VOIP or DECT phone but it would have to be through an adaptor of some kind. Voipfone said much the same thing. PlusNet are in a similar position with their new FTTP installations I believe. It seems that having a "landline" phone is no longer popular; I know several people who now use just their mobiles, but I can't get to grips with that!

@severnsider I wasnt aware that VM were no longer providing Digital voice. Obviously they decided that it was no longer economically viable.
Plusnet decided some time ago that there was a majority section of the user base that just didn't want or need a landline phone. In PNs case people wishing to retain a landline could be transferred to BT/EE.
Seems like VM have belatedly come to similar conclusions, except they don't have the transfer option ?
t seems that having a "landline" phone is no longer popular;
I've got two daughters , the youngest being 40 and neither of them has used a landline in their lives.
Myself, I've had a third-party voip setup for a few years now but TBH I don't use it for outgoing calls, I use my mobile. I still work part time from home and my main use for the voip system is to connect remotely to the office PBX.

@MisterW OK, thanks for the info! I think that I can cope with using a third-party voip set-up; my wife and I both have @plus.com e-mail addresses and we really don't want to lose them! Hopefully somebody will be along soon to help me out with answers to my other queries, but thank you for your helpful responses to the phone question!

I've been led to believe that once the switch has happened I can leave PN but keep my email. The charge would be £15pa.
As a current customer I get two years free before the charging begins which more or less ties up with my next contract renewal. So I now have a choice.

@bmc Thank you Brian, that's what I was hoping would happen. Looks like I shall wait until end of July (when the transition to Greenby should be complete) and then start with Virgin and drop PN. I like PN but it's a shame that "progress" dictates that we have to move away from a single provider if we wish to keep all our services going.
