@JaneBarr1945 If you are currently on FTTC, you will need to ask Plusnet to switch you to SoGEA, but that will start a new contract.

In which case you will need to stick with what you have got.
What is the intent of terminating the telephone service - which is a part of the current contract, be that provided by Plusnet or a third party, for it forms the primary identity and infrastructure over which the broadband service is delivered.
Depending on the intent, there might be ways of moving to another supplier (EE or BT) and avoiding ETCs, but any change will dictate a new contract.

Come the removal of POTS then, how will a (formerly) ADSL or FTTC line be identified on the OR side once its' (formerly) associated POTS number has either been deleted or ported to a 3rd party VOIP ?

Different line identity / configuration ... but that needs a change of the BTW / BTOR 'product / service' and that requires the mentioned change of contract.
