I doubt others are having problems, otherwise there would be reports on here.

Re: Landline Not Working…

Ok thanks
Some woman keeps coming on and saying “this number is temporally out of order and sorry for the inconvenience”
It was working fine yesterday.

Re: Landline Not Working…

@Blueyezz

Have you tried calling your landline number from a mobile phone, to see whether it rings, or the call gets through, or if any fault message from the mobile's end is different from “this number is temporally out of order and sorry for the inconvenience”.

Sometimes, dodgy phone lines can develop low grade faults if the line hasn't been called for a while.  By attempting to get the line to ring, the exchange applies a high voltage to make the phone's 'bell' ring,  this high voltage can clear some line problems.

Have you by any chance recently renewed your broadband contract ?

.

Re: Landline Not Working…

Hi
I’ve tried ringing from my mobile and the landline doesnt ring at all,I just keep getting this woman coming on telling me the “numbers temporally out of order and sorrry for the inconvience”
I renewed my broadband contract earlier in July and carried on with the landline so it hasn’t been cancelled and been working fine up until yesterday morning when we received a call we’ve been a customer of Plusnet for the last 20 years or so.

Re: Landline Not Working…

So, @Blueyezz , report the problem via the route I suggested earlier. From your description, it appears there is a fault with the voice circuit, and although the suggestion by @outcast may temporarily 'fix' it - which I doubt - it will return.

Re: Landline Not Working…

Does anyone know what message you get if you call a number that has gone into quarantine after a move to SOGEA?

Re: Landline Not Working…

I don't know what the message is, I expect is something along the lines of 'the number you have called is not recognised ' as it is a ceased line

@mystreet1

My mobile displays "Invalid Number", no audio message

@Dan_the_Van was thinking along the old school route, when you called from one landline to another.
Forget about this new technology of phones that are wire free

Must try from my A&A landline

Quite possibly, but as a quarantined number is in a different state to a ceased number I wondered whether the message was different - which in the OP's case might mean it isn't a actually a fault but an indication that they have been moved to SOGEA.

Unless PN have taken a decision to unilaterally switch users to SoGEA without notification, I would very much doubt that.

Re: Landline Not Working…

Unless the OP recently recontracted? It is uncommon but not unknown for the phone to continue to work for some period.

Re: Landline Not Working…

Unless the OP comes back with more detail, we are speculating, and that is something I try and avoid - I prefer to work with solid data.
