Coming up to the end of my current Plusnet contract for a cable/fibre system with voice connection. The renew system is pushing me to EE provider systems - these look attractive on price (£10 or so per month saving compared to other providers (Zen, BT), but the website offers little detail on the offer. What's the general feeling on these offers? I was veering towards Zen for a while, but their customer feedback is showing support as getting worse, whereas it used to be a market leader on 'quality'. I found the customer support on Plusnet to be generally good, with the most recent cable break being fixed within two days. I was looking for a complete solution, including voice connections to the existing number.

Splitting internet from voice offers far more choice. Potentially more work to start with but once up and running you're sorted.
Personally I would go with Zen. Indeed at my next renewal I'll give them serious consideration as I can get CityFibre as well as OR full fibre so they'll be competitive.
One thing in Zen's favour is they supply a highly rated router which has a built in ATA (Analogue Telephone Adapter) so one less power source / ethernet port required.
It thinking about independant VOIP have a look at A&A
