Cost at EE after migration

So Plusnet have emailed this morning to say that if I want to retain my 'land line' (which I most emphatically do), then they will migrate me and my phone to EE. I don't have a problem with this as such since it will reduce the chance of downtime and keep everything in one place. What they don't say is how much my new contract will cost me, what call packages are available etc. I really don't want to have to make phone calls about this sort of thing - if they have come to an arrangement with EE which I suspect they have why not tell the whole story and lay out what the financial implications and options are? Anyone else in this position? For info we only have fibre to the cabinet and I can't see that changing any time soon.

Re: Cost at EE after migration

You also want to know how long you will be in contract with EE and what your options are if you want to keep your landline but do not want to go to EE (i.e. switch to another ISP that provides a similar service to EE by plugging your existing phone into a phone port on the router - there are several around such as Zen, Vodaphone - and what ETCs would then be applied since Plusnet are effectively changing your existing contract.

Whilst I can quite understand why Plusnet would take this approach, but there is a very clear lack of clarity regarding the alternatives. Are Plusnet giving you a clear end date by which you must either move to SoGEA and lose your landline or agree to move to EE?

I cannot imagine that there will be a bumpless transfer to EE, that is without any changes to your existing contract, including any calls packages. That therefore implies that Plusnet are cancelling your current contract and EE are starting you on a new one. This in turn implies that Plusnet are cancelling your contract under section 16.1.1 of your contract (https://www.plus.net/help/legal/terms/). As such, I can see no justification for Plusnet to apply cancellation charges if you choose to move to a different ISP's combined broadband and phone service, due to Plusnet being no longer able to provide the contracted service. You may wish to test this by contacting Plusnet.

I have no idea if there are any special deals on offer apart from the 'offer' to transfer you without invoking alleged/implied cancellation charges. Again, it would be interesting to find out.

Re: Cost at EE after migration

Having delved a bit deeper I find I can do this transfer on line rather than by phone which is a good thing, but you are still starting the journey with no knowledge of what to expect!  I have seen, quite rightly, that there are no charges for ending my contract with Plusnet early.

@nippersmum

If your email was the same as mine, then it would have shown what's in the screenshot.

There was also a link to a FAQ page, which included:-

"The name of your call plan will change when your account moves to EE. We’ll make sure that you’re matched to a call plan that gives you the same benefits as, or better than your Plusnet call plan."
